Cookie Policy

Effective date: 4 April 2026  ·  Version 1.0

1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device when you visit. Cookies are widely used to make websites work correctly, remember your preferences, and provide information to the website owner.

2. Cookies we use

Boekd sets one cookie, which is strictly necessary for the service to function:

Name Purpose Duration Type
session Keeps you logged in to the Boekd dashboard while you use it. Without this cookie the dashboard cannot identify your account between page loads. Session (deleted when you close your browser or log out) Strictly necessary

3. Cookies we do not use

We do not use any of the following:

  • Analytics cookies — we do not use Google Analytics, Matomo, or any other analytics service that sets cookies
  • Advertising or tracking cookies — we do not run retargeting campaigns or use any advertising network
  • Social media cookies — we do not embed social media widgets that set third-party cookies
  • Third-party font cookies — our fonts (DM Sans and DM Serif Display) are served directly from our own server, not from Google Fonts or any other CDN

4. Legal basis

The session cookie is strictly necessary for the Boekd dashboard to function. Under EU ePrivacy law (implemented in the Netherlands via the Telecommunicatiewet), strictly necessary cookies do not require your prior consent because they are required to deliver a service you have explicitly requested. We do not ask for cookie consent for this reason.

If we ever introduce non-essential cookies (such as analytics or advertising), we will add a consent mechanism and update this policy before those cookies are set.

5. How to control cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse new cookies, delete existing cookies, and set alerts when a cookie is placed. Please note that deleting the session cookie will log you out of the Boekd dashboard.

For guidance on managing cookies in your browser, visit aboutcookies.org.

6. Changes to this policy

We will update this Cookie Policy if we change the cookies we use. We will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where changes are material, notify you by email.
